Supply Chain Officer – Aerospace & Defence

About the role

The Supply Chain Officer will support a fast‑growing Australian defence and aerospace manufacturer by ensuring that materials, components and services are available on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work closely with engineering, production and quality teams to keep the supply chain aligned with manufacturing plans.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and manage purchase orders for manufacturing and operational needs.
• Source, evaluate and qualify suppliers for materials, components and subcontract services.
• Monitor supplier performance, lead times and delivery schedules.
• Maintain inventory levels, support stock‑control activities and coordinate material requirements against production schedules.
• Assist engineering teams with New Product Introduction (NPI) and engineering change processes.
• Maintain accurate procurement records in ERP/MRP systems.
• Identify cost‑reduction and process‑improvement opportunities.
• Support demand planning, forecasting and logistics, including freight and import/export activities.
• Participate in quality investigations related to supplier performance and non‑conformances.

Required profile

• Experience in a supply chain, procurement, purchasing or materials role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong supplier management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Proven track record of managing purchase orders, inventory and material planning.
• Understanding of manufacturing supply chains and production environments.
• Exposure to ERP/MRP systems and strong organisational skills.
• Australian citizenship or eligibility for relevant security clearances.
• Desirable experience in defence, aerospace or advanced manufacturing.
