Superintendent – Rail and Civil Delivery

About the role

Manage daily rail and civil construction operations in South Australia on a full‑time, 10 days on/4 days off roster. The role combines workforce leadership, operational coordination and delegated engineering support.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise construction teams, allocate plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Plan works to meet programme and budget commitments.
• Resolve site engineering issues and support scoping and tender activities.
• Manage safety, environmental, quality and rail compliance controls.
• Oversee timesheets, workforce competencies, leave and development.
• Maintain reports on progress, costs, quality and contractual delivery.

Required profile

• Relevant Track Safe Working certification or ability to obtain it.
• Experience in rail track, signalling and overhead wiring construction.
• Experience developing renewal methods and supervising track activities.
• Strong planning and programming of track works.
• Experience managing substantial site and off‑site workforces.
• Medical fitness for rail maintenance duties (Level 1 High Level Safety Critical Worker).

Required skills

• Track Safe Working certification.
• Rail track, signalling and overhead wiring construction expertise.
• Planning and programming of track works.
• C‑class driver licence (preferred).
• First Aid training (preferred).
