Studio Designer – Creative Agency (Brisbane)

About the role

Colony Group is seeking a Studio Designer to join its Brisbane studio. The role is ideal for a detail‑oriented designer who thrives in a fast‑paced agency environment and can translate creative concepts into accurate, production‑ready assets across print, out‑of‑home and digital channels.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare final files for print, digital and OOH production, ensuring correct colour profiles, bleeds, trims and pre‑press specifications.
• Roll out master campaign assets across multiple sizes, formats and specifications while maintaining brand consistency.
• Perform basic image retouching, colour correction and imperfection removal.
• Manage versioning and high‑volume asset delivery with speed and accuracy.
• Support the creative team with layout refinements, typesetting and document layout, including data‑merge and interactive form fields.
• Occasionally create Canva templates and PowerPoint presentations.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in a design or finished‑art role within an advertising agency or design studio.
• Strong eye for detail and quality‑control skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast‑moving environment.
• Excellent communication and collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Knowledge of print production, pre‑press and large‑format specifications.
• Experience with typesetting, paragraph/character styles and master pages.
• Familiarity with Canva, Microsoft PowerPoint and data‑merge workflows.
• Basic proficiency in Adobe After Effects and generative AI tools such as Midjourney (beneficial).
