Student Mechanical Engineer

About the role

ResMed is looking for a Student Mechanical Engineer in Sydney to join its Product Development team. The Engineering function creates specifications and designs for new products and improvements to existing ones, working closely with customers, developers and other stakeholders to define customer needs. As a student engineer, you will contribute to the design, development and verification of new medical devices, working alongside experienced engineers to deliver high-quality, reliable and manufacturable products.

Key responsibilities

• Perform work in a specialised area of expertise requiring knowledge of fundamental themes, principles and concepts, typically with a partial university degree or equivalent work experience.
• Carry out routine professional activities such as CAD design-related work, design calculations and analysis, and test development with guidance.
• Run tests and report the results.
• Build stable working relationships internally to share information.
• Receive instruction, guidance and direction from others.

Required profile

• Currently studying a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Design or an equivalent field.
• Ability to follow standard practices and procedures and apply basic theories, concepts, principles and methodologies to analyse situations or data.
