Strategy Director

About the role

Dentsu Media is hiring a Strategy Director in Melbourne to act as a trusted advisor to Endeavour Group, Australia's largest drinks retailer. The role goes beyond creating strategic products: it shapes strategic direction and layers it into media planning and media plan design. It is a full-time, permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted strategic partner to senior clients, championing their customers and identifying business growth opportunities
• Lead the development of strategic outputs such as brief diagnosis, audience strategy, insights and communications frameworks
• Work closely with Client and Investment teams so the strategic platform is carried through to the media plan
• Lead, mentor and develop Manager-level talent, covering performance, development, resourcing and utilisation
• Advocate the value of strategic comms thinking to clients and support new business pitching when needed
• Work with Strategy Leads to identify and deliver key projects

Required profile

• An experienced strategist interested in building more leadership capability
• Familiarity with diverse, large-scale categories and verticals; experience with regulated categories is highly regarded
• Naturally collaborative, able to bring together client, media, creative, digital, data and broader dentsu capabilities
• Ability to work closely with Strategy Leads

Required skills

• High-level competency in media tools and systems, used to understand consumer insights and trends
