Storeperson / Yardperson

About the role

The Storeman manages stock, materials, tools, plant and equipment in the warehouse, ensuring accurate receiving, storing, picking, packing and dispatch of goods. The role keeps the workplace clean, organised and safe, and supplies materials on time to job sites and internal stakeholders. It is based in Launceston, Tasmania, in a single workshop location.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming goods for accuracy and quality
• Organise and maintain inventory in the warehouse and yard
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries
• Prepare orders for dispatch and arrange deliveries into job bays and/or stock
• Maintain a clean, safe workplace in line with health and safety regulations
• Run regular stock checks and report discrepancies
• Update Simpro with stock orders and keep shelf and program levels correct
• Arrange fire, test and tag and tooling inspections of plant and equipment
• Manage registrations and maintenance of plant and equipment
• Work with the team to improve operational efficiency

Required profile

• Current driver's licence
• HR licence
• HRW tickets where required (forklift, crane, etc.)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Desirable: good communication, positive attitude, commitment to safety, reliability, ability to travel and work unsupervised
