State Logistics Manager VIC/TAS

About the role

Bega operates one of the largest cold chain distribution networks in Australia and is looking for a State Logistics Manager for Victoria and Tasmania. This newly created role leads the logistics leadership team, sets strategic direction and manages the Vic/Tas teams as a leader of leaders, focusing on delivery leadership, strategy and operational efficiency. It is based in one of the Melbourne sites (Chelsea, Docklands, Laverton or Port Melbourne) and may involve travel across Victoria and Tasmania.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the company's state logistics operations and service providers from finished goods through to customer.
• Coach, motivate and build a high-performance team that achieves strategic and agreed performance objectives.
• Lead from the front, demonstrating personal commitment to change and engaging with company values and culture.
• Deliver operational cost, quality and service objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve processes, operational efficiency and customer service.
• Maintain an interdependent safety culture.

Required profile

• Experience leading a team in a fast-paced, complex large-scale logistics environment, preferably in FMCG.
• Demonstrated leadership effectiveness in developing people and managing team performance.
• Proven track record managing 3PL contracts for multiple sites to achieve company goals.
• Experience managing end-to-end logistics, including warehousing and freight.
• Exposure to managing a multi-million-dollar operational budget and around 200 dedicated warehousing FTEs.
