Staff Specialist - Psychiatry (Acute Adult Inpatient)

About the role

Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) Mental Health Services is seeking a Staff Specialist in Psychiatry to join its team at Concord Centre for Mental Health, an acute adult inpatient mental health service. The role provides high-quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in psychiatry and takes part in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Mental Health Service and Hospital as required. It is open to permanent full-time and part-time positions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct care and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary mental health team.
• Ensure a high standard of professional performance and encourage an academic environment supporting education, research and professional development.
• Participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Mental Health Service and Hospital as required.

Required profile

• Current registered medical practitioner.
• Registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
• Applicants expected to receive their Fellowship within six months of application may also be considered.
