Staff Product Designer – Design Systems

About the role

Airwallex is seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead the evolution of its design system. You will work across multiple product teams to create reusable components and patterns that improve consistency, efficiency, and user experience for a global financial platform.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct audits of existing digital products to gather use cases and UX patterns, then define reusable components and patterns.
• Identify inconsistencies in component usage and design, and address deviations from the current design system.
• Collaborate with product teams and developers to ensure alignment, adoption, and quality of components.
• Craft component and pattern usage guidelines and enforce processes for proper upkeep.
• Champion the design system’s value to internal stakeholders, demonstrating its impact on user experience and efficiency.
• Continuously enhance the system based on feedback, industry best practices, and emerging design trends.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience as a designer, with at least 2 years maintaining a design system.
• Strong portfolio showcasing end‑to‑end product design, craftsmanship, and innovative solutions.
• Excellent methodical and critical thinking skills.

Required skills

• Advanced UI design proficiency in Figma.
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS (bonus).
