Staff Platform Engineer

About the role

Culture Amp is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to own the engineering and architecture of its foundational internal technology platform. You will build a secure, automated, self‑service ecosystem that reduces operational drag and protects the company’s control plane.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, secure and maintain core enterprise platforms such as Okta, Google Workspace, Jamf, Slack, Claude Enterprise and Glean.
• Design and continuously improve workforce identity, access management, device trust and endpoint controls using Terraform and related automation tooling.
• Eliminate ClickOps by managing platform configuration through pull requests, CI/CD pipelines and rigorous Git workflows.
• Own the end‑to‑end identity lifecycle for joiner, mover and leaver workflows, including HRIS integrations.
• Build reusable modules, administrative tooling, SOPs and runbooks for Workplace Technology.
• Define the baseline architecture of office networks across Melbourne hub and satellite locations.

Required profile

• Strong systems‑thinking and architecture skills for resilient identity, SaaS and network designs.
• Sound judgment in defining platform boundaries between foundational engineering and delegated operations.
• Anti‑ClickOps mindset favouring code, automation and reusable modules.
• Ability to translate complex infrastructure into safe tooling, clear runbooks and least‑privilege models.
• Collaborative technical leadership with a player‑coach approach across Security, Enterprise Architecture and Workplace Technology.
