Staff Mobile Engineer – Mobile Foundations

About the role

Airwallex is looking for a Staff Mobile Engineer to lead the Mobile Foundations team, shaping the core architecture that powers its native iOS and Android applications. You will work on a high‑visibility platform that enables global B2B payments, expense management, and card controls for thousands of businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the shared mobile architecture across iOS and Android, including navigation, state management, and networking.
• Design, build, and maintain critical shared components and libraries used by product squads.
• Act as a technical mentor and multiplier, guiding mobile engineers across the organization.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure a consistent, high‑quality user experience.
• Drive platform scalability, reliability, and performance improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience building large‑scale mobile platforms in a fast‑moving environment.
• Founder‑like energy with a track record of delivering end‑to‑end solutions.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, curiosity, and ability to make decisions from first principles.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor others.

Required skills

• Swift, SwiftUI, Combine, async/await (iOS).
• Kotlin, AndroidX, Coroutines, Hilt, Jetpack ecosystem (Android).
• Experience with mobile architecture, navigation, state management, and networking.
