Staff Data Engineer

About the role

The Staff Data Engineer is the technical authority for day‑to‑day data engineering delivery and operations, reporting to the Principal Data Engineer. You will lead technical decisions, ensure platform reliability, and mentor both local and offshore engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of data platforms, pipelines and products, ensuring functional and non‑functional requirements are met.
• Design scalable, secure solutions on Snowflake, Airflow, AWS and related frameworks, translating architectural direction into practical implementations.
• Maintain operational reliability by owning run‑state of pipelines, triaging incidents, meeting SLAs/SLOs and driving automation.
• Enforce CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, observability and DevSecOps standards through code reviews and remediation.
• Collaborate with governance, security and privacy teams to embed metadata management, data lineage and access controls.

Required profile

• 7+ years of data engineering experience, including leading technical delivery of complex solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
• Proven ability to mentor junior and mid‑level engineers and work with distributed teams.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
