SQL DBA – Sydney, Australia

About the role

Infosys is seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator to join its Sydney team. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of both SQL Server and MySQL environments while supporting transformative technology initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead SQL Server and MySQL operations covering availability, backup/recovery, patching, capacity and performance management.
• Own database monitoring, alert triage, job failure management, and routine index/statistics maintenance.
• Manage high‑availability configurations such as Always On, clustering or replication and coordinate disaster‑recovery testing.
• Oversee incident, change, problem, service request and release activities in line with agreed SLA/KPIs.
• Coordinate with application, storage, backup, server and security teams for end‑to‑end issue resolution.
• Review SQL changes, upgrade/patch plans, rollback procedures and operational risk controls.
• Provide customer‑facing operational updates and status reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience administering SQL Server and MySQL databases in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of high‑availability and disaster‑recovery concepts.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and communicate technical information clearly.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on reducing recurring issues.
