Speech Pathologist

About the role

Ability Action Australia, a national therapy services provider, is recruiting a Speech Pathologist to support NDIS participants across Queensland. The clinician advocates for participants so they can get the support they need, when they need it, working independently in the community while staying linked to a larger multi-disciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Independently assess complex participants' emotional, psychological, cognitive, developmental and physical level of function and their capacity to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Use clinical observations and standardised assessments, interpret findings and formulate treatment goals.
• Participate in training and receive formal 1:1 supervision.
• Take part in monthly peer group supervision with the wider Queensland team.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, psychologists and behavioural science practitioners.

Required profile

• Current membership with the Speech Pathology Association (SPA) as a Speech Pathologist.
• An interest in working with people of all ages and abilities.
• The ability to work autonomously in the community while linking in with a larger multi-disciplinary team.
• A driver's licence and full access to a vehicle.
