Specialist Technician – ICT Support for Schools (Victoria)

About the role

Bytewize is looking for experienced ICT specialists to deliver technical support to Victorian schools through the Technical Support to Schools Program (TSSP). The role involves managing complex school networks, servers and cloud services while providing professional development to staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain ICT infrastructure across Department of Education schools.
• Administer Windows and Linux server environments and virtualisation platforms.
• Support Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Mobile Device Management solutions.
• Configure and maintain Cisco and HP switching, as well as Cisco wireless controllers and access points.
• Deploy and troubleshoot standard operating environments, images and large fleets of desktops, notebooks and mobile devices.
• Collaborate with school leadership teams and deliver ICT training sessions when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of senior‑level IT support experience, preferably in education or TSSP.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and organisational skills.
• Eligibility to work in Australia, a current driver’s licence and willingness to undergo background checks.

What we offer

• Salary range $90,000 – $110,000 (pro‑rata) AUD per year, top rates based on experience.
