Specialist Technician – ICT Support for Schools (Victoria)

About the role

Bytewize is seeking experienced Systems Engineers / Specialist Technicians to provide technical support to Victorian schools through the Technical Support to Schools Program (TSSP). The role involves managing ICT infrastructure, supporting staff and students, and delivering professional development in a technology‑driven learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain ICT infrastructure across Department of Education schools.
• Administer and support school networks and Windows/Linux server environments.
• Provide ICT support services in large, technology‑driven learning environments.
• Collaborate with school leadership teams and deliver ICT professional development when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of industry experience in senior‑level IT support.
• Previous experience within the TSSP program, the education sector, or equivalent corporate IT support.
• Eligibility to work in Australia, current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Hyper‑V virtualization administration.
• Windows and Linux server administration.
• Cloud service administration (Google Workspace & Microsoft 365).
• Mobile Device Management (MDM) deployment and administration.
• Advanced enterprise networking (Cisco & HP switching).
• Cisco wireless technologies (controllers, APs).
• Standard Operating Environment (SOE) and image deployment with advanced troubleshooting.
• Support for large fleets of desktops, notebooks, 1:1 and BYOD device planning, deployment, and management.
• Technical documentation.

What we offer

• Salary range $90,000 – $110,000 (pro‑rata) AUD, with top rates guaranteed based on skills and experience.
