Spatial Strategist

About the role

Buro North is seeking a Spatial Strategist to shape how people navigate and experience built environments and public realms. You will work across precincts, campuses, transport hubs and public spaces, turning complex spatial, behavioural and brand challenges into clear, intuitive solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop wayfinding and spatial strategies for major built environment and public realm projects.
• Conduct user experience research and translate insights into strategic direction.
• Collaborate with architects, urban designers, industrial designers and clients to deliver integrated place experiences.
• Present strategic recommendations clearly to clients and stakeholders.
• Contribute to proposals and business development activities.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in wayfinding strategy and/or spatial UX.
• Strong understanding of built environment and public realm design processes.
• Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
• Collaborative and curious approach to problem‑solving.

Required skills

• Knowledge of wayfinding systems and spatial user experience principles.
• Familiarity with design processes for architecture, urban design and public spaces.
