Sous Chef

About the role

Join Old Coast Road Brewery’s kitchen team in Myalup, WA, where craft beer and great food combine in a beautiful setting. As Sous Chef you will work closely with the Head Chef to keep preparation organised, service running smoothly and the team delivering food they’re proud of.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present dishes for restaurant service and functions.
• Supervise daily kitchen preparation and service, allocating duties to chefs and kitchen hands.
• Manage kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence.
• Maintain food quality, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Assist with menu development, recipe testing and food costing.
• Monitor stock, assist with ordering and stocktakes, and control food waste.
• Train kitchen staff in cooking methods and service standards.
• Maintain food safety, allergen controls, kitchen hygiene and safe working practices.

Required profile

• Experienced sous chef or strong senior chef ready to step up.
• Ability to lead by example, stay calm during busy services and get the best from the team.
• Availability for weekends, public holidays and functions.

Required skills

• Strong cooking skills and sound kitchen organisation.
• Knowledge of food safety, allergen controls and kitchen hygiene.
