Sous Chef – Full‑time Kitchen Leadership Role

About the role

Minor International’s Oaks Sunshine Coast Oasis Resort is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join its kitchen team on a full‑time basis. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will help maintain high culinary standards and deliver memorable dining experiences for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside, direct, and support kitchen team members to ensure excellence and consistency in all dishes.
• Oversee staff performance, maintain uniform product quality, and manage inventory and back‑of‑house expenses.
• Assist in menu creation, conduct cost analysis, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and food standards.
• Recruit, induct, train, and roster kitchen personnel while refining recipes for dietary needs and allergies.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Minimum two years’ experience as a Sous Chef.
• Strong leadership with the ability to motivate a diverse team.
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic kitchen environment.

• Menu development and cost analysis.
• Inventory management and food safety compliance.
• Staff training, scheduling, and performance supervision.
