Software Engineer – Python/Django

About the role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join Kraken’s energy‑tech platform. You will help build and maintain the backend systems that process smart‑meter data and enable a sustainable, intelligent grid.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement robust, fault‑tolerant services.
- Model complex energy‑market domains and translate them into clean code.
- Develop and maintain APIs using Django, Django‑REST‑framework and GraphQL (Graphene).
- Implement asynchronous processing pipelines with Celery and async Python.
- Deploy and monitor services on AWS using CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, CircleCI) and observability tools (Sentry, CloudWatch).
Required profile
- Strong attention to detail and ability to solve intricate design challenges.
- Passion for building technology that supports a low‑carbon future.
- Experience working in fast‑moving, agile environments.
