Software Engineer – Junior & Mid (Data & ETL)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer (Junior or Mid level) to join one of Australia’s largest companies in Sydney CBD or Melbourne. You will analyse master data sets, troubleshoot data issues and develop ETL solutions using tools such as Informatica.

Key responsibilities

• Profile and analyse data using SQL to support business and management reporting.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes and perform data migration tasks.
• Interpret functional and reporting aspects of data and present findings to stakeholders.
• Identify data gaps, patterns and trends, and highlight issues from source systems.
• Collaborate with business, solution and technical teams to define requirements.
• Document data mapping rules for migration projects.

Required profile

• 1+ years of data analysis and development experience for junior level or 3+ years for mid level.
• Relevant IT degree (mandatory) and certifications in related technologies.
• Strong consulting ability with SSIS, SSRS and data profiling/analysis.
• Excellent problem‑solving and client‑facing communication skills.
• Experience in health cover or insurance domain is a plus but not required.

What we offer

• Junior salary: AUD 50,000 – 80,000 per year.
• Mid‑level salary: AUD 80,000 – 120,000 per year.
