Software Engineer, EOS

About the role

Arista Networks is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Extensible Operating System (EOS) team in Sydney. You will design, develop, and deliver core networking features that power the world’s largest data‑center networks.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement networking features in C/C++ and Python on Arista’s Linux‑based EOS platform.
• Collaborate with product management, customers, and fellow engineers to define functional and technical specifications.
• Write functional specifications, design documents, test plans, and automated tests to ensure high‑quality code.
• Own projects from definition through deployment and provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Work directly with Customer Support Engineers to triage, debug, and resolve complex network issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (BSc, MSc or PhD).
• High proficiency in C/C++ and solid experience with Python.
• Strong interest in computer networking technologies and solid understanding of operating systems.

Required skills
