Social Volunteer - Walk & Talk with Residents

About the role

HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme funded by the Australian Government, is looking for a friendly Social Volunteer in Woy Woy. The role is about spending relaxed time outdoors with residents, enjoying the gardens, pathways and peaceful surroundings while supporting their mobility, wellbeing and confidence through light-paced, social walking. No fitness level is required.

Key responsibilities

• Walk and talk with residents in care, supporting their mobility, wellbeing and confidence
• Keep visits calm, enjoyable and focused on meaningful conversation and company
• Visit regularly, as regular visits can improve quality of life and reduce isolation for older people

Required profile

• 18 years or older
• NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
• Commitment of 1-2 hours per visit for a minimum of 6 months, with visits scheduled Monday to Friday between 10:30-11:30 or 1-4pm
