Social Visitor Volunteer – Aged Care

About the role

HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government, is looking for a friendly social volunteer to spend one hour each week visiting a gentleman who is a passionate fan of the South Sydney Rabbitohs, rugby league and horse racing. He would like someone to share lively conversation, talk about the latest matches and races and enjoy relaxed companionship.

Key responsibilities

• Visit the gentleman once a week or every two weeks, depending on availability, for about one hour.
• Chat about sports, share stories and spend quality time together.
• Keep visits relaxed and friendly, with visits scheduled between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday.

Required profile

• Aged 18 or older.
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
• Availability for weekly or fortnightly visits within the stated hours.
