Site Manager - Civil & Urban Infrastructure

About the role

Hutchies is seeking a Site Manager for its Civil team on a full-time, permanent basis. The role sits within the Brisbane-based team, but most project work is currently in Toowoomba, and project locations vary by project. Experienced Supervisors ready to move into a Site Manager position are also welcome.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the project on time, under budget, safely and to the quality standard of the head contract
• Manage on site subcontractors, plant equipment and materials
• Plan and programme the works, coordinating suppliers, consultants, labour, surveyors and testers
• Handle site safety: inductions, supervision and compliance with the safety plan
• Coordinate the surveyor's setout and quality control, testing and position checks
• Resolve design issues and other technical problems on site

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Site Manager or Supervisor on civil construction projects
• Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field (or working towards it)
• Ability to interpret drawings and resolve technical issues on site
• Ideally able to operate plant such as water carts, rollers, excavators, posi-track/bobcats and graders

Required skills

• Planning and programming of works and coordinating multiple stakeholders
• Understanding of site safety requirements and quality control processes
• Strong organisation, communication and stakeholder management skills
