Site Director – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

Opella is seeking an experienced Site Director to lead its strategic manufacturing site serving the Australian and New Zealand markets, with export activities to Asia. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, sustainability, and innovation across a large production facility.

Key responsibilities

• Translate corporate strategy into clear site priorities, aligning manufacturing output with commercial goals.
• Ensure product availability, on‑time delivery, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Lead a team of approximately 220 staff, managing a €2.5 M investment budget and a €65 M operating budget.
• Drive a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and sustainability throughout daily operations.
• Act as a strategic partner for Commercial, Supply, Quality, and Development Centre teams to accelerate innovation and product launches.
• Oversee safety, quality, cost competitiveness, and environmental performance.
• Lead organizational and cultural transformation projects and define medium‑ and long‑term industrial strategy.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably within the health‑care or VMS sector.
• Strong results‑orientation with demonstrated change‑management capabilities.
• Ability to foster an inclusive, high‑performing culture and engage large, multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience managing sizable budgets and large‑scale production volumes.
