Simulator Pilot Instructor - C-27J

About the role

CAE is recruiting a Simulator Pilot Instructor for the C-27J at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland. The role reports to the C-27J Key Account Manager and to the C-27J Lead Instructor, providing training, administrative and subject-matter expertise support for the Spartan Pilot Initial Qualification (PIQ) course, secondary upgrade courses and current training, and liaising with other resident instructional staff. It is a part-time position (0.6 FTE).

Key responsibilities

• Conduct mission briefs and debriefs as appropriate.
• Deliver simulator instruction to C-27J pilot students.
• Engage with simulator maintenance technicians to report identified simulator issues.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of training material supporting syllabus delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Military Qualified Flying Instructor or Operational Flying Instructor in an aircrew training environment.
• Minimum 1000 command hours on multi-engine, multi-crew and tactical transport aircraft such as the C-27J, C-130J or similar.
• Experience as a flight simulator instructor is highly regarded.
• Ability to hold, or obtain, a Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, or recognised equivalent experience.
