Shopify Developer (Melbourne)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Shopify Developer to join our e‑commerce team in Melbourne. You will be responsible for creating high‑performing, pixel‑perfect storefronts and custom applications that drive conversion and enhance the shopper experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain custom Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Develop and integrate bespoke Shopify apps and features via the Admin API, Storefront API, and Webhooks.
• Optimize site performance, page speed, and mobile responsiveness.
• Implement and manage third‑party integrations such as ERP, POS, inventory, CRM, email marketing, loyalty, and payment gateways.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to deliver on‑brand, pixel‑perfect experiences.
• Support seasonal campaigns, product launches, landing pages, and merchandising updates.
• Troubleshoot bugs, checkout issues, and theme conflicts; manage app installations and Shopify Plus features.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility (WCAG), SEO, and security best practices.
• Monitor analytics and work with marketing/merchandising to identify CRO opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on Shopify (or Shopify Plus) development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and modern JavaScript.
• Experience with Shopify Admin API, Storefront API, and Webhooks.
• Familiarity with headless commerce frameworks such as Hydrogen or Next.js.
• Understanding of retail e‑commerce operations, inventory sync, promotions, and order management.
• Proven ability to integrate third‑party platforms (e.g., ERP, POS, email marketing).
• Solid grasp of responsive design, cross‑browser compatibility, and Git version control.
