Shift Operator – 24/7 Production (Laverton North)

About the role

Nufarm is seeking Synthesis Production Operators to join its 2,4‑D Manufacturing team in Laverton North. You will work on a rotating 24/7 roster, operating a fast‑paced agricultural chemical plant that produces key crop protection products.

Key responsibilities

• Operate plants efficiently, adhering to schedule and cycle times.
• Follow supervisor instructions for process control, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Manage safe shutdown and start‑up of equipment in Plascon, Herbicide, Brine, Chlorination, Distillation and related processes.
• Report plant or equipment faults via the CMMS work request system.
• Drive 5S, plant cleanliness, and coordinate handovers and issue reporting.
• Apply permit‑to‑work, JSEA, LOTO, and Management of Change procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience operating in a high‑hazard manufacturing environment.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and a focus on safety and consistency.
• Willingness to contribute to productivity, safety and quality improvements.

Required skills

• CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) usage.
• 5S workplace organization.
• Permit‑to‑Work systems.
• Job Safety and Environmental Analysis (JSEA).
• Lock‑out/Tag‑out (LOTO) procedures.
• Management of Change (MoC) processes.
• Effective handover and issue reporting.
• Technical troubleshooting.
