Service Technician - BESS and HV Systems

About the role

Fluence, a global provider of intelligent energy storage and optimization software for renewables and storage, is hiring a Service Technician in Sydney. The role covers inspections, maintenance, repairs and field service on battery energy storage systems (BESS) and their associated high voltage (HV), medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs and field service on BESS and associated HV, MV and LV systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues using diagnostic and testing tools.
• Conduct HV switching in line with safety, regulatory and operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, switching, permit and technical records.
• Support commissioning, testing, validation and optimization of new installations.
• Collaborate with project managers, commissioning teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient operations and smooth project handover.
• Prepare reports, develop maintenance schedules and update technical documentation.
• Stay current with industry standards, regulations and best practices for BESS and HV systems.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in energy, engineering and/or battery storage.
• Proven experience in the renewable energy sector with strong knowledge of maintenance practices for renewable systems.
• Ability to interact in a multicultural environment, travel and work under pressure.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.

Required skills

• A-class electrician license with relevant HV experience.
• Proficiency in HV switching and strict adherence to safety standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, service manuals and technical documentation.
• Solid computer literacy for operating and maintaining OEM systems.
