Service Person – Facility Maintenance

About the role

The Service Person is a key member of a multi‑skilled team responsible for safely maintaining facility infrastructure equipment. The role involves technical repair, preventive maintenance and support to other trades across a range of systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform building operations maintenance in line with environmental and safety procedures.
• Oversee custodian services and grounds maintenance as directed.
• Complete job‑related documentation such as work orders, timesheets and safety reports.
• Operate trucks, forklifts, hoists and other material‑handling equipment.
• Carry out minor electrical repairs, filter and heat‑exchanger cleaning, painting, door hanging and lighting fixture replacement.
• Assist tradespeople, perform general service duties, cleaning and documentation to maximise equipment reliability.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years’ experience in trade and construction, with a strong understanding of WHS and facility maintenance practices.
• Certificate II in Construction Pathways or equivalent experience, White Card, and a valid driver’s licence.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain NV1 security clearance progressing to Top‑Secret Positive Vetting.

Required skills

• Plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering and basic electrical repair/installation.
• Operation of trucks, forklifts, hoists and other material‑handling equipment.
• Use of hand and power woodworking tools (saws, planers, routers, etc.).
• Proficiency with SAP, Archibus and Microsoft Office Suite.
