Senior Unreal Engine Developer (C++)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Unreal Engine Developer to join a leading Melbourne‑based games studio. You will work on next‑generation projects, creating high‑performance gameplay experiences for a global audience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise complex gameplay systems using Unreal Engine and C++.
• Lead technical decision‑making and mentor junior team members.
• Manage tasks, contribute to workforce planning and ensure delivery milestones are met.
• Build tooling and architect robust, scalable solutions within Unreal.
• Optimise performance across gameplay, rendering and networking pipelines.
• Collaborate closely with designers, artists and other engineers.
• Support multiplayer and networked gameplay features.
• Drive technical innovation and contribute to engineering best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of commercial Unreal Engine development experience.
• Strong C++ programming skills.
• Proven track record delivering complex gameplay systems and real‑time applications.
• Deep understanding of performance optimisation in Unreal Engine.
• Experience with multiplayer/networked systems and shipped titles or immersive experiences.
• Solid grasp of software architecture and scalable engineering practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
