Senior Technical Officer - KC-30A Maintenance Program

About the role

Northrop Grumman Australia is offering a 12-month fixed-term contract (parental leave cover) as a Senior Technical Officer within the Maintenance Program & Optimisation team. The role supports the KC-30A program and helps keep the Royal Australian Air Force fleet safe, available and operationally ready. It involves working with Defence customers, engineers and aviation specialists, reviewing technical data and driving improvements to fleet performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Aircraft Maintenance Programs (AMP), Technical Maintenance Plans (TMP) and configuration management requirements.
• Review maintenance program amendments, engineering changes and technical instructions.
• Conduct technical assessments supporting maintenance optimisation and continuing airworthiness outcomes.
• Provide specialist technical advice to Defence and internal stakeholders.
• Support audits, compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to delivering safe, reliable and mission-ready aircraft capability.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship is required because a Defence security clearance (AU-Secret, NV1) is needed.
• International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) apply, so nationality may affect suitability.
• Candidates must pass police checks and employment screening verification.
• Travel is expected about 10% of the time.
