Senior Tax Technology Analyst – Data & Backend Engineer

About the role

Deloitte is looking for a Senior Tax Technology Analyst to join its Tax & Legal Transformation and Technology team. You will help shape data‑driven, automated and AI‑enabled tax solutions for global clients, working on a large enterprise tax platform that is being modernised at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and enhance tax analytics and processing platforms, including APIs and backend data workflows.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across SQL, backend services, calculation logic, stored procedures and data processing layers.
• Optimise .NET‑to‑SQL interfaces by refactoring chatty database calls into high‑performing patterns.
• Analyse massive relational data models and stored procedures to eliminate performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with software, data and AI teams to evolve the rules engine and processing architecture.
• Support modernisation and simplification of legacy components, improving data models and processing approaches.
• Identify opportunities to apply emerging data‑engineering and AI capabilities.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience solving complex engineering problems in SQL.NET and enterprise‑scale data environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with a track record of performance tuning and optimisation.
• Ability to work under pressure during peak delivery periods and to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
