Senior Tax Manager

About the role

The Senior Tax Manager will lead the tax governance function for a respected investment manager operating in the Australian superannuation and financial services space. This senior position is responsible for ensuring full compliance with Australian tax legislation and supporting strategic decision‑making across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the tax function, covering income tax, GST, and withholding tax compliance.
• Oversee accurate and timely tax reporting, lodgments and regulatory submissions.
• Provide strategic tax planning and structuring advice while maintaining compliance integrity.
• Manage relationships with the ATO, auditors and external tax advisors.
• Monitor legislative changes and update policies, controls and reporting frameworks.
• Mentor and develop a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of accountability.
• Drive continuous improvement of tax processes, systems and governance frameworks.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification with extensive tax experience in superannuation, funds management or financial services.
• Deep knowledge of Australian tax laws, regulatory requirements and compliance obligations.
• Proven leadership experience managing high‑performing teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence senior leaders.
• Analytical, proactive and risk‑aware mindset.
