Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

Camtech & Slater, a 20-year-old CPA firm in Moe serving clients across Australia, is hiring a Senior Tax Accountant. You will own a portfolio of business and individual clients and be the person they trust most. The role replaces the CEO, who is stepping back from day-to-day client work to lead advisory and education.

Key responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of business and individual clients and be the person they trust most.
• Review company, trust, partnership and individual returns, BAS, IAS and FBT, and own them with confidence.
• Run tax planning so clients never face a surprise tax bill.
• Use AI every day to work faster and smarter, and help build the tools that put the firm ahead of others.
• Provide advice clients did not know they needed: structure, cash flow, wealth and automation.
• Mentor Australian and Philippines accountants, run tax training and raise the bar.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified, with 6 or more years in Australian public practice.
• Registered tax agent, or close to it.
• Backs yourself on final review and prefers fixing a problem than passing it up the line.
• Confident, conversational and simple with clients, and willing to pick up the phone.
• Owns their work; nobody ever needs to chase them.
• Right to work in Australia.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Xero and XPM.
• Handy in Excel.

• Salary of $110,000 to $125,000 plus super, with more for a registered tax agent.
