Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

Komatsu Australia is seeking a commercially‑minded Senior Tax Accountant to join its Finance team. You will support tax compliance, reporting, governance and continuous improvement across a global organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and lodge Activity Statements with the Australian Taxation Office.
• Prepare income tax and Fringe Benefits Tax returns and supporting schedules.
• Ensure timely payment of all tax obligations.
• Prepare monthly income tax provisions and tax reconciliations.
• Assist with statutory reporting, including tax disclosures.
• Support audits and reviews by the ATO and State Revenue Authorities.
• Assist with reporting to the overseas parent company and transfer‑pricing obligations.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors on tax matters.
• Drive continuous improvement of tax processes, controls and governance.
• Provide tax advice and implement legislative changes.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification (essential).
• Demonstrated experience in Australian tax accounting and compliance.
• At least 5 years of finance experience with tax responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of activity statements, income tax and FBT requirements.
• Experience in an in‑house, commercial, public practice or audit environment.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and confidence with detailed financial data.
• Experience with SAP and MS Dynamics is advantageous.
• Attention to detail, sound judgement and ability to work independently.
• Clear communication, collaborative mindset and ownership of a specialist portfolio.
