Senior Systems Engineer – Federal Client (Canberra)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support a Federal client in Canberra on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, with the possibility of two extensions. The role focuses on technical assurance, compliance, and lifecycle management of an Earth Observation program.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑level specialist advice on technical assurance, compliance and technical progress.
• Deliver system engineering expertise and perform engineering assurance and technical information reviews.
• Develop engineering processes, procedures, guidelines and a technical certification framework for the program.
• Support lifecycle management, including requirements development, monitoring, reporting and capability acceptance.
• Collaborate with Earth Observation delivery branches, cross‑functional teams, stakeholders and partners to achieve program objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in system integration and systems engineering on complex projects in government or industry.
• Demonstrated experience managing engineering aspects of capability or projects, including technical certification and compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Systems Engineering).
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain Baseline security clearance.
