Senior Structural Design Engineer

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer to lead the design and analysis of large‑scale civil and defence infrastructure projects in Australia. You will work in a collaborative environment, delivering robust, durable solutions that meet client and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead structural design and analysis for diverse civil infrastructure and defence‑related projects.
• Develop concept, preliminary and detailed designs for reinforced concrete and structural steel elements, focusing on constructability and lifecycle performance.
• Conduct comprehensive site inspections, including work in confined spaces and at heights, to verify design implementation.
• Support asset condition assessments, structural integrity reviews and long‑term maintenance planning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, geotechnical, environmental) to deliver integrated solutions.
• Maintain technical excellence in calculations, design documentation, specifications and reporting.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Proven experience on large infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and construction methodologies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Willingness to travel and work in diverse environments.
