Senior Specialist Engineer – Systems Modelling

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced System Modeller to lead modelling and simulation activities that uplift the engineering capability of the enterprise. You will become a Subject Matter Expert in system modelling, supporting Defence programs and digital engineering initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support across the enterprise on system modelling frameworks, languages, methods and tools.
• Develop artefacts such as modelling guides, work instructions and training material to improve maturity.
• Deliver demonstrations and training to foster adoption and build skills.
• Support integration of system modelling within the system engineering life‑cycle and with other engineering tools.
• Engage stakeholders to define capability roadmaps and support bid responses related to system modelling.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent) meeting Washington Accord criteria.
• Professional Engineer with 5+ years experience in systems engineering across the life‑cycle.
• Eligibility for Australian Government Security Clearance (NV1 or higher).
• Strong communication and organisational skills, able to work independently and collaborate with stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SysML language and modelling tools (Cameo/No Magic preferred).
• Familiarity with architectural frameworks such as UAF, NAF and DODAF.
• Experience in configuration and change management for system modelling.
• Programming/scripting skills in Python and JavaScript for tool integration and automation.
