Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Hydra Search is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a collaborative team building advanced, cloud‑native backend services for large‑scale geospatial and data platforms. You will work on greenfield development, solving complex technical challenges in a fast‑moving product environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services supporting geospatial and data platforms.
• Contribute to the architecture and evolution of cloud‑native systems within AWS environments.
• Collaborate with engineering and data teams to deliver robust platform capabilities.
• Build high‑performance ingestion, processing, and distribution pipelines for complex datasets.
• Improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability of platform services.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Work with modern technologies such as Go, C#, distributed databases, search platforms, and large‑scale data systems.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience developing scalable software applications and backend systems.
• Backend development experience with Go, C#, or similar modern languages.
• Experience building and deploying cloud‑native applications, preferably on AWS.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, and scalable platform design.
• Experience with databases, APIs, messaging systems, caching, or search technologies.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to deliver practical technical solutions.
• Comfortable contributing to technical discussions and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
• Exposure to geospatial, mapping, imagery, or large‑scale data environments is a plus.
• Experience working within Agile engineering teams.
