About the role
Odenn Impact LLC is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help evolve its backend platform. You will work on a Python/FastAPI monolith and a growing suite of Node.js/TypeScript microservices, shaping event‑driven architectures that power socially impactful ventures.
Key responsibilities
- Design and build new backend services in Python and TypeScript.
- Extract functional pieces from the existing monolith into independent microservices.
- Define and implement Kafka event flows and data pipelines.
- Perform advanced PostgreSQL work: schema design, indexing, and query optimisation.
- Review code, contribute to architecture decisions, and provide on‑call support for owned services.
Required profile
- Several years of production‑grade backend experience.
- Comfort with event‑driven architectures and message queues (Kafka primary, RabbitMQ/SQS/NATS acceptable).
- Strong PostgreSQL expertise, including performance tuning.
- Experience working in a service‑oriented codebase and ability to own projects end‑to‑end.
