Senior SOC Analyst – Level 3

About the role

The Senior SOC Analyst (L3) joins Deloitte’s 24x7 Security Operations Centre to lead incident response for high‑profile clients. Reporting to the SOC Team Lead, you will act as an escalation point for L1/L2 analysts and provide technical guidance during investigations.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the L3 escalation point, handling complex alerts and coordinating response across shifts.
• Lead a dedicated analyst group to improve processes, detection tuning, and delivery outcomes for key clients.
• Perform event correlation, threat hunting and TTP analysis to identify and mitigate attacks.
• Mentor junior analysts, share knowledge and up‑skill night‑shift staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience escalating and resolving security incidents using SIEM, IDS/IPS and host‑based prevention tools.
• Ability to analyse malicious activity, determine exploitation methods and document findings.
• Australian citizenship and eligibility for NV1 government security clearance.

Required skills

• Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms.
• Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS) and Host‑based Intrusion Prevention Systems (HIPS).
• Threat hunting, threat intelligence integration and detection tuning.
• Incident response and event correlation techniques.
