Senior Radiographer (Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional)

About the role

The Medical Imaging and Nuclear Medicine (MINM) team at Queensland Children's Hospital is recruiting a Senior Radiographer (Cath Lab/Interventional) to deliver high-level medical imaging clinical services in the Cardiac Catheter Lab (CCL) and Interventional Radiology (IR) units. The role also provides day-to-day clinical supervision and support to less experienced radiographers.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and report on clinical practices and outcomes within the CCL/IR clinical service area.
• Provide day-to-day clinical supervision and support to less experienced radiographers.
• Apply evidence-based clinical practice to complex medical imaging services, including cardiac catheter lab, interventional radiology, fluoroscopy, operating theatres, general, emergency and mobile radiography.
• Manage and prioritise clinical workloads, adapting established procedures and methods where needed.
• Collaborate with the medical imaging team, clients, families, other health professionals, supervisors and students.
• Take part in quality improvement activities to improve CCL/IR services within the multidisciplinary team.

Required profile

• Advanced knowledge, expertise and skill in evidence-based clinical practice for radiographic services, with an emphasis on paediatrics.
• Ability to exercise independent professional judgment while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• High-level communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with staff, patients and stakeholders.
• Able to handle risk and seek support from team leaders when needed.
