Senior Quality Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Quality Engineer at ANZ, you will help design and deliver a modern banking platform that offers simple, secure experiences for millions of customers. You will work with cross‑functional squads to embed quality early, accelerate delivery, and ensure high levels of trust in the digital banking services.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners, engineers, analysts and other squad members to identify risks early and fix bugs as they arise.
• Coach engineers on test‑driven development and test‑first approaches.
• Design test strategies, optimise execution across functional and non‑functional coverage, and assess regression test coverage.
• Build and maintain UI automation scripts and tools (Selenium, Puppeteer, Cypress, XCUITest, Espresso, Appium).
• Create and maintain test cases, scripts, execution logs and defect records in test management tools.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities for testing and implement efficient solutions.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in testing and developing QA automation frameworks.
• 4+ years of hands‑on experience coding and maintaining UI automation tools.
• Proven track‑record delivering in Agile digital projects, preferably in a complex banking environment.
• Experience with REST API testing, contracts and mocking.

Required skills

• Automation tools: Selenium, Puppeteer, Cypress, XCUITest, Espresso, Appium.
• Programming languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, Kotlin, Swift, Ruby.
• Test management tools: JIRA, Xray.
• Manual testing as needed.
• Understanding of quality engineering trends and processes.
