Senior Project Manager - Water Infrastructure

About the role

A respected and growing infrastructure contractor is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead complex water, utilities and multidisciplinary projects across South East Queensland. The role combines project delivery, commercial leadership and technical expertise, with the chance to shape major tenders and influence how the business plans, prices and delivers its work.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex water, utilities and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects from planning through to delivery.
• Drive programme, cost, claims, variations, subcontractor performance and reporting, keeping commercial and delivery decisions on track.
• Work with precontracts and project teams to develop practical, commercially sound bids.
• Manage client, subcontractor and stakeholder relationships, with accountability for safety, environmental and quality outcomes.
• Mentor Project Managers and emerging leaders, guiding them through challenging delivery issues.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or relevant infrastructure qualification, with 5+ years' industry experience and at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Senior project management experience in complex water, utilities or multidisciplinary construction, with a strong understanding of electrical engineering or construction.
• Proven commercial judgement, including tendering, project finances, negotiations, claims and variations.
• Open driver's licence, Construction Induction Card, Senior First Aid, CPR and Confined Space Entry.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Excel.
• Knowledge of pump fundamentals.
• RPEQ, GC21, electrical awareness, wastewater operations, Working at Heights or EWP credentials are advantageous.
