Senior Project Engineer - Rail Infrastructure

About the role

ACCIONA is recruiting a Senior Project Engineer for a $5.5 billion greenfield rail project (The Wave Stage 1, 19 km of dual-track passenger rail between Beerwah and Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast) in Queensland. The project is in design and preconstruction, ahead of Brisbane 2032, and is reported to the Area Manager. You will lead engineering delivery of your work package in Civil, Structures or PUPs, guide a team of Project Engineers and work with subcontractors, designers and the client.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery of your work package safely, on program and to budget
• Guide Project Engineers and set goals aligned to project outcomes
• Manage subcontractor scopes, payments, variations and contract administration
• Control costs, forecast monthly and identify risks and opportunities early
• Prepare look-ahead programs and notify delays and extensions of time promptly
• Enforce quality, safety and environmental plans and close out defects and non-conformances
• Prepare authority submissions and coordinate documentation between designers and site

Required profile

• Valid C class driver licence (essential)
• Valid Construction Safety Awareness Card (essential)
• Engineering degree or relevant tertiary qualification (preferred)
• Construction or engineering delivery experience, rail desirable

Required skills

• Planning software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project (preferred)
