Senior Project Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join Monadelphous’ PNG Operations team. The role starts in Brisbane and moves to a FIFO site in Papua New Guinea, delivering technical expertise across project management, estimating, procurement and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination and delivery of complex engineering projects through to commissioning and handover.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets and risk mitigation to ensure successful outcomes.
• Develop and execute commissioning strategies, plans and schedules.
• Work closely with client representatives to meet their requirements.
• Manage the interface between engineering and delivery teams to maintain compliance with specifications, schedules and contracts.
• Supervise resolution of technical queries as required.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience in on‑site project engineering or coordination for large‑scale resources, oil and gas projects.
• Australian recognised tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or relevant trade certificate.
• Front‑end commissioning experience across bid, tender, shutdown and project environments.
• Strong written and technical skills with an innovative approach to problem‑solving.
• Well‑developed communication skills and a collaborative, team‑oriented attitude.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
• Proof of right to work in Australia and a valid passport.
