Senior Project Engineer

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support the delivery of critical Defence infrastructure within the Australian Naval Infrastructure (ANI) South Australia program. The role involves hands‑on planning, cost control and site delivery while coordinating subcontractors and working closely with design and construction teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of multidisciplinary scopes across roads, civil utilities and structural works.
• Assist with programming and planning activities, including short‑term and look‑ahead planning.
• Contribute to cost management, project controls and forecasting activities.
• Support subcontractor management, coordination and performance tracking.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure constructability, compliance and value for money.
• Implement and maintain stringent quality assurance processes aligned with Defence standards.
• Contribute to construction methods development and sequencing to optimise cost and time outcomes.
• Prepare reports and communicate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in civil engineering or a related field with at least 6 years of site‑based delivery experience.
• Proven experience across roads, bulk earthworks, structures or multidisciplinary civil scopes.
• Strong understanding of project programming, cost control and forecasting.
• Extensive leadership and management experience.
• High level of written and verbal communication skills.
