Senior Procurement Specialist - Solar PV & BESS Equipment

About the role

INTEC Energy Solutions delivers large-scale renewable energy projects, including utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), across more than 20 countries. As its Senior Procurement Specialist, you will own the sourcing of the electrical, civil and mechanical equipment used to build these projects. Based in the Brisbane office and reporting to the Procurement Manager (AU/NZ), you will work across multiple projects in Australia and New Zealand, partnering with Project Directors, Engineering, Commercial & Contracts, Construction, Finance and the Philippines Procurement/Shared Services team.

Key responsibilities

• Support and implement sourcing strategies that deliver cost savings, efficiency and strong supplier performance
• Run the RFQ process: prepare and issue RFQs, analyse quotations, complete technical and commercial evaluations, and negotiate pricing and delivery terms
• Build strategic supplier relationships, lead negotiations on contracts, payment terms and lead times, and run performance reviews
• Issue purchase orders, track deliveries and align procurement with construction schedules to meet on-time delivery targets
• Interpret electrical, civil and mechanical drawings and specifications, and coordinate First Article Inspections
• Provide pricing insights and cost analysis to Business Development and Estimating within approved budgets and delegated authority
• Identify inefficiencies, share lessons learned from post-project reviews and mentor junior team members

Required profile

• 8+ years of procurement experience in construction, electrical or renewable energy sectors; renewable energy experience is highly advantageous
• Experience procuring electrical installation components, SCADA systems, structural materials and mechanical components
• Ability to interpret ground reports, structural load requirements (wind, snow) and technical specifications
• Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia; successful candidates undergo background and reference checks

Required skills

• Strong expertise in RFQs, cost analysis, supplier negotiation and contract management
• Proficiency in ERP systems for procurement management
• Familiarity with AutoCAD for reviewing designs
